About
I believe there are three types of editors: the
educated, the experienced, and the gifted. I fall somewhere in these three.
As a zealous reader, turned writer, it was
only natural that I would evolve to the next level—editing.
I've always had a knack for finding a typo or
the ability to rearrange sentences. I'm able to see what needs
correcting with very little effort, as if the mistakes magically turn to
bold and jump off the page into my lap. I guess you would call this my
gift.
I offer real-time experience after spending 30
years as an executive assistant working with CEOs of various corporations,
where editing business letters, proposals, corporate presentations, and
financial filings were a daily occurrence where grammar, proofreading,
attention to detail and letter perfect presentations were a must.
I am the recipient of several editing awards:
2011 2nd Place EVVY Award in the Technical Category for Editing (out of
84 entries) for the book Magical
Sex, Extraordinary Love by Dr. Theresa Knight and L. Challis Jensen.
2010 copyeditor/proofreader for 1st Place EVVY Award-winning book
The Legacy of Beezer and Boomer
by Doug Koktavy.
2009 1st Place EVVY Award-winning book
Tears of a Warrior by Janet & Tony Seahorn.
Ten years ago, I founded and continue to run
V And E Services, a virtual
author's assistant company, where I was awarded the prestigious honor of Master
Virtual Assistant (MVA) and most recently became a Master Virtual Author's
Assistant (MVAA).
My ability to study and dissect every sentence and
my insatiable appetite for reading and
absorbing as many reference resource books as I
can find, makes me the editor you can trust.
